I may be installing a new Empire dv35, and the side clearance is 6” to combustibles. The wall is obstructed by an 8” timber on one side of the installation, and if I could reduce the clearance by 2 inches I can utilize the heater, which fits my btu needs nicely. Is there a heat-shield type install or some other method of protecting the timber so the reduced clearance isn’t considered violating the clearance to combustibles requirement?
Thanks, Daniel
