It does not, it is soldered to the board surface. I had an optometrist go bad on my PDV. I put in a ZIF socket when I replaced it. Be very careful, you only have one or two chances before you most likely ruin the traces on the board.

I knew what ya ment ;) and it is also another component to look at on his board. They do tend to go out together
