Has anyone run this as a stand alone?

Would this be recommended or not? I was just looking for input about hooking up a couple vents to it and using it a a main stove.

I believe it does not have a secondary burn and may use more wood...

Did some more reading and it looks like it will not be very effecient....

Guess I'll go with the 30NC

There are quite a few 30NC users here and 'nary a complaint. Good call. She should be a very capable heater.

I was going with a 13nc but laughed when i saw the firebox size and i can get a 30nc that features a firebox much bigger....

13nc was used $450 new $799 while it is $899 for 30NC

Good call Mike, the 30NC is what I was thinking for you in your original post. That'll show up the old Vigilant and make you warm with less wood to boot.
