Enviro M55 FS 2009 model advice

I've been reading a few posts here and you all seem to know your stuff. Wondering if anyone has info to share on a never-used (technically new), albeit 2009 model Enviro M55 Steel model that my local dealer has available...any issues or quirks with a 2009 build as opposed to a 2015 model? Thanks for any help with this!

Only concern is the convection fan. As long as the stove is sold w/ warranty, you should be fine. I purchased a 2009 M55 steel fs from a dealer two years ago. Had been used as a demo. Got the warranty noted on bill of sale. Dealer disappeared; fan died at the end of year one. No worries; Enviro replaced the fan under warranty.

The steel didn't have too many issues really. In fact, the blower that was the big issue for the insert was never upgraded in the steel and seems to be ok. You may need to install the feed gate in the hopper, that came out in 2010. I'd go for it. The steel is a great stove and how about that ash bin and hopper? I sell a lot of them. Doesn't need a hearth pad either unless you install on carpet.

Ok, thanks so much. I heard that the fan on pre-2013 models was weak causing other issues. Good idea to note warranty on the bill.

Yeah, that convection fan is weak. But look for other things in a stove that has been sitting around for so long. Look for rust, especially in the heat exchange tubes inside and outside. In the inside underneath the convection blower rust dust will fall from the exchange tubes.

Also make sure they haven't swapped too many parts from it. And if they have, make sure the replacement parts are good. Maybe have them run it if they can to show you it works.
