Hi Folks,

Tonight after 7 years the blower fan on my Enviro Venice 1700 just stopped.

One second it was running, the next it stopped. No loud bearing noise or other indications.

Doesn't work on temp mode or with the switch to flipped to manual either.

New fan priced a replacement is $700. Looking for any suggestions to try before I order it.

TYIA!

Page 25 shows the blower circuit. Do you have this type? With the power off, disconnect the fan controller and bypass it. Rocker switch on manual. What you want to do is start bypassing things that could be bad. Another way is to make up a fused cord (I suggest a fused cord in case the motor is bad, and a 15A wall circuit could catch something on fire) and hook it directly to the blower with the normal wires off. If you are not comfortable working on 120V get help.

Check around for a blower - the part number is in the manual = $700 is way too much

Id look for an electrical repair shop. Many times they can fix the issue way cheaper.

That's a great insert and a very good looking heater.

How capable are you at testing electrical circuits? There is a chance that another component has failed and not the blower. The rheostat is a common point of failure. It can be bypassed for test purposes. If that makes no change, then another test would be with power applied directly to the blower, bypassing switch and rheostat.

Both of these parts can be replaced with 3d party components. If the blower is being replaced, look for one with a sealed ball bearing motor.

I may be in luck. The fan restarted a few hours later. Could be heat related I was running the stove a bit hot.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm pretty handy so if the problem returns I can probably fix it without paying $700.

Check, and tighten all the connections. Sometimes the connectors get loose. I have a coffee urn I use for making beer. It was acting up. I tightened up all the connections, and it's like brand new.
