Equinox air control sticking

I have an Equinox and the air control is sticking real bad. Once you shut it down it won’t open back up. I’ve always been able to shake it and get it to open but now it getting worse. I know this has been discussed before. I see that Hearthstone has three technical bulletins Two from 2009 and one from 2015. Anyone know which to choose?

Good info, thanks for sharing. I would consider lubing that area too with a dry lubricant like graphite powder.

I’m assuming the 2 from 2009 didn’t work . The sleeve from 2015 is just a spacer and a push washer. I looked up the part and found it available from one Hearthstone parts supplier for $138 dollars. A 1/4 “ push washer and a 3/4 long spacer. I think I can find that stuff in my garage. Has anyone installed the spacer? Does it work?

I was wrong the spacer was $148 and the one from the first picture was $136. That one in the first picture I could grind the the top of that off myself. Just want too know which method solves it.

Might as well try both methods. This could be done one at a time or both at once.
