Looking to purchase the F500 and wife is interested in the Blue Black enamel finish. She seems confused about whether the stove is still cast iron or not...since it is then an "enamel" finish.
Be kind in your answer to help her understand,
Thanks

There are cast iron enamelled bath tubs.

Cast iron plates/elements that are bolted and (furnace)cemented together. And they are not bare but finished with enamel - just like those old bathtubs.

Yes, it is still cast iron underneath the enameled finish. The blue-black enamel is gorgeous and a bit tougher than the glossy majolica finishes.
