Door wasnt closing right last burn ans found that the door hinge assembly has a terrible weld that cause the pin holder to literally fall out.

Waiting to see if warranty covers it but I was told I would have to pay for shipping from Canada ($25-30) if it does. Seems like BS for a clear defect in craftsmanship or lack thereof.

Regency already denied my cat replacement with 3-4 seasons until it stopped working entirely. They claim is good based on pics. Was told these last 10 years when I bought it and again when I brought it up about the hinge.

See pics. Weld didnt penetrate nor did they even get 25% coverage.

“Years” of cat life expectancy is an asinine way to measure it. They are supposed to last 10-12k hours. If that takes you 10 years then I guess they are right but full time burners will hit that in 2-3 years.

I understand that but if you offer a 10 year warranty and your dealer says they last 10 years then regency should eat the replacement cost. I read through their warranty several times and see no reason it should be denied.

I have never had an issue getting them to honor their warranty

Dealer got both parts in under warranty but is telling me I have to pay for shipping which is $75. This doesn't seem right. Especially for the hinge which is very clearly a lack of craftsmanship.

And $75 seems quite excessive regardless.

Yeah that is bs. Even if they were charged shipping (which i never have been) sometimes you just have to eat that loss to treat your customers right.

Going to try and reach regency directly and confirm before I pay and pick up thr parts. Half tempted to tell them to keep the hinge and weld tye broken one myself. Safety issue IMO that the hinge was so poorly welded.

Emailed regency and they said that they do not charge shipping , so they will have to work it out with the dealer. Sounds like they were profiting off warranty replacements.

Meant to say regency said I need to work it out with thr dealer.

Guess I pay the fake shipping or dont get my parts.

Dealer can get some reviews if it comes to that.

Show the dealer the email from Regency?

Is that the only dealer in a reasonable distance to you? If so I would get the parts and start leaving bad reviews everywhere like Google, yelp, BBB, Angie's list etc. Maybe you can get the warranty parts thru an online dealer? I would hate to give that dealer another penny.

Looks like at least one more within a reasonable distance.

Not sure how future warranties are covered if any dealer can handle them.

I have all day to write reviews and would cost them more than the $75 that seems they want to skim off of warranty parts.

I wanted to be certain before I call them out in person. If it was just the hinge I'd tell them to keep it.
