Says there neighbor took down a cherry tree that has been standing dead for at least a year. Asks If I want any......

Of course I said heck ya! Will keep some smaller pieces for smoking, but will cut whatever I can fit in my trunk and back seat to continue 2014/2015 stack.

He says its mostly 6" - 8". That should be some very easy hand splitting. So far cherry is by far my favorite wood to split. Will post some pics tomorrow when I get it.

Very nice Rick. Sounds like a lot of that won't even have to be split. Cherry dries fairly quick too. Even though it has been dead, I'm betting the bottom part of that trunk will still have plenty of moisture.

6 to 8 inch pieces might be a little hard to stack. Maybe on top of some regular size stacks. Good luck. Cherry is nice to burn in the fall.

I love cherry , smells so good to burn ! I just split about half a cord !

I love cherry too. Looking forward to the pics.
I have a dead cherry that needs cut. If it's cool out this week.

Cherry....one of my favorites. Good to have family watchin' out for ya
