Finally have the new Oslo installed. Break-in fires are complete and now I'm waiting for it to cool off a little outside 47 deg today so I can get her up to cruising temps. So far I love the stove. I'll try and post some pics after I trim the hearth pedistal.

I'm happy already. Before the stove my wife wouln't let the oil guzzeling thermostate above 65, last night with just three small splits I had the entire downstairs a comfortable 74.

Awesome! You definitely need to post some pics of your finished work. Make sure to post back with your learning experiences. I'm interested in what you find with yours as I've read about issues with the intake lever (possibly resolved in late-model Oslos) as well as tips on how to get the best burn. I just finished my break in fires on Tuesday and burned yesterday evening. Still trying to learn the ins and outs so definitely interested in your experience.

So far my greatest joy was this morning when I awoke to an entire log worth of coals after filling the firebox at midnight. Put a couple splits in for my wife before I took off for work and it started right up :D No more middle of the night reloads

Yea that's a 44' mlb. They retired them about the same time they retire me after 21 yrs. The stove is still performing like a champ. I'm still learning how to tweak it properly. In regards to the air intake I asked the installer about any issuies he knew about and he told me he had been called out for a few service calls involving stuck or hard to move levers, so he took off the air induction cover and showed me how the plate is stamped and how sometimes it would be very rough on one side from the milling process, you just file it smooth and you should be good to go. Mine looked ok and I haven't had any issuies as of yet but I'll keep my eye on it.
