I'm finishing my basement, and my tarm boiler sticks right out. I'd like to enclose it. Also it smokes, and at times backpuffs. I need to incorporate some kind of exhaust in the enclosure.
Anyone do this, or any ideas?

An enclosure could be problematic if it restricts proper airflow to the boiler. What size/construction are you considering?

As far as the occasional puff of smoke from the blower I installed an 8" blower with a flexible duct on it to use when I know I'm loading at an inappropriate time. I vent the blower through my existing utility room vents. Works great for the occasional evacuation of smoke or dust.

Air intake shouldn't be a problem with louvers and possibly bringing in outside air if needed. Size isn't important as long as I have access to it. Height is fine for cleaning out, I do have to look into ways to exhaust the smoke, smell, and occasional puffs.

If you're trying to limit smoke the louvers could be counterproductive. Sounds like you have it all figured out already?
