Occasionally my gas fireplace ignites a fire under the pilot light. This does not always happen but when it does, it only seems to go out when the gas is turned off. Does anyone know if this is dangerous or what might be wrong here? I have added pictures below, but it does not seem like a fire should ignite ther and is starting to burn the surrounding wires. Any help is much appreciated!

Yeah, that's not good.
Who is the manufacturer?
Looks like there may be a break in your pilot tube.
You will probably need to replace it.
If this is a really old unit, you may need to replace the
entire pilot assembly, if it's available...
If you do replace the tube or the assembly, make sure
those holes where the tube & the wiring comes thru
the floor are sealed with RTV silicone.
