I need some help, we installed a Englander 28-3500 add -on and are not getting very good burn times or heat. the flue goes into a old teracota chimney that I 13x9. I am going to purchase a pre insulated 6 inch flue liner to see if that helps. question is will the flue liner fit in my old flue number one ,number two, my chimney liner will be 30" long will that be to long of a run for a 6 inch flue to get the right draft? thanks for any help!

Is there something wrong with the flue? I would measure your chimney draft, chances are you have too much and might need to decrease it with a barometric damper. Having said that, I don't think that's a very efficient unit to start with - what are you getting for burn times?

I"m getting about 2-3 hours burn and maybe 4-6 hours of coaling. will installing a 6inch flue liner help?

Is there something wrong with your existing flue?

The first thing I would do is measure the draft to see what it is. If what you meant above was you have a 30 foot tall chimney, that's a tall chimney and I would bet is pulling too much draft. A new flue liner won't help that - you'd still have too much draft, maybe even more. Is there a barometric damper in the flue pipe?

On another note, that seems to be a bit high on the coaling time - are you sure your wood is dry? You might have more than one issue.
