Question:

I had a gas log fire place inserted a couple of years ago Model 24UV .The tag says it was made in Ontario Canada by Empire Products Inc.I am having trouble with it staying lit.It will go out after a while.Any suggestions who in the Richmond Va. can service it?

Answer:

Dave, maybe you mean Ca. instead of canada? There is an Empire in California at (800)527-4790

Chances are the problem is in the thermocouple. Look at the article about "How Gas Appliances Work" at https://www.hearth.com/what/specific.html
This should give you a lot of help in understanding why it may go out.
