Just finalizing things up to have our first fireplace insert installed. We are getting a great deal on a Regency CL1250 installed and hope to have it purchased and installed before the new year(for energy rebates and tax credits). I have a couple of questions, first the fireplace is just a smidge off in the back for fitting and the stove shop suggested having a mason they deal with frequently trim the back top corner to fit it. What do you think I should be expecting to pay for this? Should I just get a cutting wheel and trim this up myself? Also I need to run an outlet box up through the ash dump in the bottom to get power for the blower on this model. Any suggestions for products to us that can handle the heat thrown off by insert?
