I recently purchased a property that previous had a gas LP fireplace (foreclosure that was gutted). The fireplace is actually the main source of heat (mountain cabin) and needs to heat about 900sf though total size is about 1400sq (includes basement that doesn't need direct heating).

The rough openings are 36 1/2W, 18D, 37 3/4H and is a square framed box (not brick) with vent hole out back - see attached. Local dealers seem to only sell Lopi and Avalon which seem to be the same manufacture (Bostonian or Seattle). I was wondering if anyone had other recomendations. Trying to find a fireplace online that fits seems to more difficult than I would have thought.

Thanks,
James

Heat N Glo makes a SL-550-TRS that is a furnace rated box that will almost fit. The framing dimensions ar 37w x 33h x 16d. You could probably easily get another 1/4" each side. I don't know if the hole going out the back would line up though. You would want the IPI unit of the 550.
