Bought a Fisher Baby Bear for our garage and the door latch does not seem to be working properly. We have an older Mama Bear and the door does not operate the same way. I read the info about the newer safety two step door process and this one seems to try to operate like that but I think the latch rod might be bent. What should the latch rod approximate angle be inside? See pix of mine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Bent on a 90* angle more straight with door like this;

It should pull the door tight when pushed down. When you lift up, door can open slightly and latch should stop door from opening the rest of the way. Then rotate down to open.
