At this point I'm pretty sure I'm going to install the stove in the den which is option #2. Its going to require a lot more work. Hopefully I'll get to it soon.
If I was going install it in the living room with the deer heads I would move them further away

Thats the same stove I have correct? The Grandma bear? Any issues burning with the doors open and screen on with the 6" reduction?
My chimney draws like Michelangelo !!!!! I have a pipe damper in the 8” round . Never has a problem . Even with the screen on I get Zero smoke. Also I have the baffle plate in the stove.
