Hi All, I have a 20 year old Tiara II gas stove by Heat n Glo. Super stove.,still working like new, but .... I broke the front glass while cleaning.
Contacted manufacturer; they don't make it anymore, don't have part and said I should NOT just replace the glass and gasket. It's factory sealed to be tight; it's a safety thing.
I can't afford the $800 for the glass door. Question to you all: is it possible to replace the glass and put in a new gasket? Found ceramic glass for about $100. Or is the manufacturer trying to scare me? Thanks all!

If the door glass has an absolutely flat profile & you can match the Pyroceram thickness, I’d say go for it. I would try to match the gasket with the OEM material, too. If the profile isn’t flat, what you buy WILL be & there is a chance of the byproducts of combustion entering your home due to an incomplete seal. You definitely don’t want that.

Thanks Daksy!

Cut a template out of cardboard for the glass replacement. Take the template along with the broken glass pieces to a good glass shop. They should have ceramic glass that will match thickness and can be cut to fit. Or, order from onedayglass.com.

Thanks begreen. I did find a glass shop . One of my ?s is re: the rope gasket. Heat n glo will not help me with this. There are many online stores that sell rope gaskets that fit heat n glo stoves, but none i can find for this exact model. Any suggestions? Flat with adhesive, round rope ... my head is swimming ☺️

Didn't want u 2 think I'm not responding ... the front glass panel is at glass shop, when they call me that it's ready, I'll snap a pix of the gasket material with ruler. Doesn't surprise me it is not listed in parts. Heat n Glo does not want you 2 replace glass or gasket-want to sell a new complete panel for over $800! Stay tuned !

Hi Bob, Here are pics of the gasket and a ruler next to it. Can you tell what replacement gasket I should be buying from this? Thanks much!

Get some 3/4” tape gasket. Don’t worry about the color. Check YouTube & you’ll find the procedure to apply it to the glass.

Heat N Glo is definitely no help on this usually. I did get a tech to tell me one time that the bigger direct units use a tadpole style gasket. 1” tail with a 1/2’ bulb. Check to see if yours matches those dimensions. They will not stand behind it though. The only way they will stand behind it if something goes wrong is by buying theirs. The gasket is part of the the glass assembly.
