i'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a new Blaze King Ashford and am trying to figure how I will lay the room out if I do. I'm wondering how close I can furniture to the side of it. The three things I may put near it would be a TV, a leather couch, or an antique wood cupboard. I'm not sure how hot the surface temp of the stove runs and how close I could put any of these things without hurting them or possibly drying them out.

There's a difference between safe combustible difference and drying out difference. In winter I see our tight oak flooring shrink in front of the hearth for a couple feet. If you can keep these items 3 feet away from the stove they should be ok. The Ashford is cast iron jacketed which should buffer the radiant heat quite a bit.

Like bg said 3ft should be ok .i have a real leather chair same distance and i run my stove full load 24hrs in dead of winter no problem three year burning.
