Hi—
Recently noticed a few small gaps where the top of my wood stove connects to a single wall chimney. The largest gap is not insignificant, a crack maybe 3/4 cm long. This is a pretty DIY setup in a small cabin we're in while we work on building a real house — it's an old Jotul 602 stove, which itself has some small cracks, and the whole setup is a bit janky — but this seems potentially a little more significant. I noticed it when starting fires, as I realized I could see the reflection of a bit of flame on the top of the stove.
I'm wondering if this can realistically be patched, even to give us another year or so. Furnace cement?
Couple photos attached to make clearer. Thank you!
