Just check the forecast for the coming week. Two snowstorms forecast for the east!!!! They say a little more rain with the first one but more snow with the second one. I see we are forecast for snow and sleet for the first one; snow for the second. Nope, winter is not done yet.

Keep the snow shovels handy and get the wood ready. Hold off on cleaning the stove as you just might be needing it for a while yet.

Not as bad here in CNY. We're callin for some rain/snow then a little snow. But bein on the evil side of the great lakes, you learn not to trust the weather man. Either way, I'm goin creek fishin tomorrow. Just to be out there.

I think we've seen our last snow down here on the Island. It was 72 here yesterday...down to 50 today....but I'll take it. Its still going down to the mid 30s at night, so I usually start a fire after dinner (around 7-ish), and then give her a half-load b/f bed to keep the house warm for the morning. i think I'm ready for spring now. ;-)

That's the weather gods looking at the threads on here about spring, and folks planning the last fire.........

Not the first Winter to have a sting in it's tail!

Well... let's see if I can remember back that far......

It was 1974, around the third week of April, we had a 21" snowfall.

Snowblowers don't get put away here until around the third week of May - just to be safe. :)

I'll give it to the end of April, but then the snowblower is going back in the shed. I enjoy taunting the gods of snow.

If we get any more of that four letter word my back is done for. :bug:

Yup, Shari, that was a fun one (not). My mom buried her Electra 225 into a 4ft drift. 2.5hrs to dig it out. Took my dad 5 hours to get from Oklahoma ave& Chase to 124th and Greenfield. That was as far as he could get due to all the stuck cars and trucks, had to hoof it from there about a mile, No cell phones back then either. I had to come in from Waukesha not a fun drive either in my Rambler American. That was after I spent an hour plus digging it out of the parking lot at work.

-35c/-30f here in the mornings Backwoods and above freezing in the afternoons. No snow coming, just clear skies and sunshine.
Feels like spring for us. A fire is lit before bedtime. Good coals to start the following evening. Dennis, you KEEP AWAY from those shovels.
Cheers

Last year we had the last snow storm 4-27-2010, we'll push some wood in this week plus I'm finally going to burn some of the ash we have.

Sav, the snow will stay north and go across the border to Canada.

Still have a foot or so in the yard and about 4 ft. by the road. Dog loves romping through the corn snow.

Go crawl back under your unseasoned stump P00K and listen to it sizzle so you are occupied again for a good long while.

Ja, go burn wet wood. HISSS... HISSS...

Seems like the cold will stay with us through the end of March, we did get a dusting of snow last night. It will be a couple of weeks before I can get back in the woods in the area I had planned to cut in but have plenty of wood that needs splitting and stacking.

I will check out the trail that goes up into the bowl that leads up top, seemed to be less snow on it then the trail I was on today. We have some Aspen cut and split up in that area for the shoulder season in the fall.

Sav a couple of pictures of the storms from savuweather.

Ya, our forecast doesn't look that bad now. Just some snow, sleet and maybe some rain but cold through the end of the month for sure. That will be a big help with the making of maple syrup. I've been to the sugar shack just twice so far but will probably go back, maybe tomorrow.

This still means that you keep that shovel PARKED. Ya hear.

We're listening.

2-5 inches forecast here for today and tonight . . . it should go away soon though this time of year.

1-3" snow forecast tomorrow. Yesterday turned out to be mostly rain with some snow mixed in. Even had some thunder after dark. That is not good as thunder in March foretells a dry summer. Some might like it but it is not good for growing things.
