Just got informed on my bill I will be recieving a new meter this summer. I wonder if that is becouse I cut my power consumption in half starting last fall when I put my house online with the boiler ?

They have changed mine every three or so years for a long time. Funny since they have to go around the wood stacks to get to it.
Just for kicks I been trying to get a new meter but no luck my bill high going up,up,up,lol. But I did finally find out that the front load washers made over sees ,[Bosh] is one the they have a ele. heater that Heats the COLD water if it below 60degrees Yep they do.USA made ones have a switch to turn it off. My well water is 43degrees out ground,so even washing in cold water I use ele. more.
Is the new meter one of those SMART meters? I got a letter a month ago informing me we will be getting SMART meters installed this summer. I did a search on them and there are some folks out there all up in arms over them. I am still trying to figure out if there really is an issue or is this more consperiacy theroy. Not sure how a 1/4 watt transmitter can cause som many problems.
I wonder how many of those in hysterics about the health effects of these meters spend their time gossiping about it with their cell phone stuck in their ear while smoking a cigarette. Some wonderful stories going around that I have heard about the cameras in them and microphones to listen in on conversations inside the house.
They have intalled over 100,000 smart meters here in BC. There have been many complaints about power comsumption spikes with them . BC. Hydro said on the news last night they were going to remove a 1000 of them to see if they can figure out what is wrong. The news showed a few hydro consumers that had their own meters as well as the smart meter and they were not showing the same consumption results. And of course the difference was not in the favour of the consumer. I feel these smart meters are infringing on our privacy ,the hydro company can sell the info that comes from the meters. Also the right wing Gov't in power here has passed a law so that they can spy on us via internet. Pretty soon they will be measuring the size of your sh*t . The bill also makes it so that someone growing over 5 pot plants gets a mandatory jail sentence somwhere in line with what a child molester or someone that sells child porn would get. So I will have to pay taxes for new prisons and the $100,000 per year it cost to keep a non violent dope smoking criminal behind bars .
