New CB1200 insert owner. My unit has the 3 glass windows. The one of the left (hinge side) is almost always relatively clear... as is the center one... The one on the right (latch/open side) is constantly hazed with ash. Also odd... the hopper lid, is not hot to the touch on the left/hinge side, but IS hot on the right/latch side.

Could this indicate I'm not getting a tight seal? Newish owner so I'm not sure how tight to crank down on the latches. The stove is under a year old so everything is new..... Haven't even burned through its first ton of pellets. Pics attached for reference.

In the pictures, it looks like I can see flame thru the seal on the right side. Perhaps that is just an artifact from the camera/phone? If it isn't an artifact, then there is probably a gap where the rope seal's ends meet and that needs to be fixed (replaced is probably best - not scabbing in more rope)..

If the red is an artifact from the camera, then you may just try adjusting the the latch so the seal is tighter and see if that makes a difference.

Note that I do not have expereince with your stove so am just giving generic advice on a couple of things to look at.

The "flame" you see if the red led light indicating the stove is calling for pellets.. it's not an air gap. I did tighten the latches the last time I cleaned it (yesterday) and now I will get some solid runtime over the holiday/weekend so I'll see if that makes any difference.

I'll also note the pellets I'm trying this year (energex) ... I hate them. HUGE amounts of ash vs. what I used partially last year (hamer's hot ones). Maybe that is the real root cause.
