I'm on the give-up-and-pick-the-splinters-out-later plan. Work gloves wear through fast processing wood.
I'm subbing, I need to know I haven't found a pair that last more than 5 cords. I bought the cheap 3 packs for $5 at lowes and the 3 pairs last 1 season at best. I have a couple pair of Wells Lamont that have been holding up well but the one pair has a hole in the index finger. These are about 2 years old and insulated so they are only worn in the winter. Link below to the insulated ones. I had a Carhart pair that were awesome but my buddy borrowed them and never returned them.So what are we wearing? I have yet in over 20 years found a pair where the fingers don't wear out. They all have reinforced palms but I pick up my lumber by the fingers
So you have 1/2 a man cardi dont wear gloves when handling wood. Seriously. I call them "Bit$h mittens"
I do wear gloves every single time i load wood in the stove though. Splinters arnt too bad, third degree burns are no fun.
Those look great. Where did you get them? These are without a doubt the best wood gloves I’ve found. Textured rubber prevents splinters and really grabs the wood to the point that I can feel a big difference in how much force I have to grab splits with. It doesn’t make a difference for a few, but when moving a cord at a time, it makes a real difference. I always lose them before they wear out. I suspect the dog finds them and hauls them off somewhere. I bought a 10 pack a year or two ago for something like $3 a pair.

Thank you sirmemphis sidekick 16010, online, in bulk.
They last a long time, for work and wood. And if one wears out, I have plenty of "pairs" to choose from.
That's what I've been using and it hasnt bankrupted me but I'm willing to try something else.Harbor Freight bulk pack. Usem, tossem when worn, grab another pair. Cheap, effective, easily replaceable.
Haha you wear gloves putting wood in the stove but not when handling wood? I'm just the opposite. My wife wears gloves when putting wood in I don't. I did a few times when I'm reloading with hot coals but the welding gloves are only insulated on the top.i dont wear gloves when handling wood. Seriously. I call them "Bit$h mittens"

Google Superior Gloves. So what are we wearing? I have yet in over 20 years found a pair where the fingers don't wear out. They all have reinforced palms but I pick up my lumber by the fingers
And I thought I was the only one doing this. When a finger wears out I cut one off a useless glove and duct tape it onThe fingers will always wear out. Because of that, it's hardware store cheapo's for me. When the fingers get thin I wrap them in duct tape and then when that wears through they get tossed for a new pair. I usually go through one pair per season.
