The cherry won't cut it tonight. Headed out to pick out some smaller splits from next years stash that's about 1.5 years seasoned. Gonna be 15 here tonight and down here with this humidity that's cold here. Chills you to the bone you know? Hope all those snow storms stop up there for you guys soon

cherry and most fruit woods are great for hot fires but they won't last as long as oak. i burn 95% white oak, because that's what i get easy... but i keep a pile of wild cherry in the garage for the smoker. when the temps dip and the fire slows, i reach for a couple splits and she loves it! i will mix it it with the oak to help jump the temp before i damp things down for the night. i also really like the coals cherry leaves, great as an evening reload before stuffing it with oak for the night.

Well I'm loaded up with white oak for the night. Been setting steady at about 625 for half hour and it's 75 in the house. Air is shut down completely and making a show. Off to bed

By the way I went with a load of cherry before the last load. Worked out great for me too!

Ash mostly. Free for the taking if you know someone that has a lot of standing dead and doesn't burn.

Not much ash on my place. I've found 2 trees and I've got 100 acres. Got everything else though. Hickory, white oak, red oak, pin, post, cherry, maples, poplar, etc
