It an intriging idea... plenty of sawdust here in the area. How much would I need to make a 40 lb. bag? I would think 40 lbs! How much can i load in a 5X10 trailer? Who knows... but I can get it almost free.

The mill is powered by a 15 HP diesel engine... the cost? Somewhere south of $1000.00... plus freight.

Maybe I can get a container load of illegal garment workers to babysit the thing from Ching Fang Foo... or wherever it comes from.

If that thing could pump out a ton in a day, i'd be all over it for a grand! We have a wood mill here that makes Molding and the shavings from the molder and surfacer are very nice...and free. the local horse track gets shavings in wheat trucks to use for stall bed material so you know its pretty dust free for these expensive horses to bed on.
Can you find out the output?
Then i could sell pellets l;ocally myself for 3.50/bag and put the competition to rest!
Would have to figure out a bagging system.

Wow........I see it has holes in the frame for bolting it directly on top of your pellet stove !

Now you can quickly & easily get rid of all leftovers, household trash, shredded credit card bills, worn out tennis shoes, road kill animals, mother in laws hair piece,.... etc & turn it all into valuable heat, without leaving the toasty comfort of your home !!

Don't forget the outside air kit for the diesel tho.............

A guy I know has a simular one and he is making some of his own pellets. I have seen them and may try them. Seems you can make pellets out just about anything thats burns. But how will they burn? He's made them from lawn clippings, card board, leaves, Straw, Paper and of coarse saw dust. There is more items you can use as well.

The hardest part is you need to dry them on screens. Takes quit a bit of space to do so. And days to dry. Need some type of rack to stack the screens for less space.

Really a big investment and not a lot can be made in a days time. Fun to play with if you got the time and space.

The rotary drier should be pretty cheap... not much more than the mill. You don't need a hammer mill if you only make 'em out of sawdust.

the only problem with the pellet machines at home is HOW DO I GET DRY SAWDUST???
The sawdust your going to use will have at least 19% moisture due to that is how much moisture that is in the atmosphere. So unless someone has a kiln in there back yard i dont know how the machine will produce good pellets.

You in a prime area for some nice fiber. You get to making those pellets out of the Douglas fir and find a economically way to get them to the northwest and I will gladly be one of your buyers.

I really like the fir pellets! I just can't get them here.
