Good sale on pellets in Nova Scotia yesterday

Rona had a 1-day sale yesterday, 15% off everything in store, reduced the price of Eastern Embers from $5.99 to $5.10/bag. That price probably doesn't sound so great to a lot of you, but here in NS prices have been high all year and sales are rare, especially on most people's preferred brand. So I grabbed 24 bags to replentish the pile in my garage.

I'm hearing there's a lot of inventory out there and they have to get rid of the stuff. Prices are dropping. Oil and pellets is a race to the bottom.

I drove by Home Depot in Moncton NB yesterday. Big sign outside - pellets $3.99/bag, by the pallet. Had the brand on there too but I forget what it was. Think it started with an 'L'.

Wow I haven't seen a price anywhere near that low around Halifax for several years! They must be clearing out their inventory to make room for spring and summer stuff. The brand may have been Lignetics, I think Rona was selling them for the same price as the Eastern Embers. Not sure how they burn.

Yes, surprised me also. I was driving by when it caught my eye - got a second look in to verify the price but didn't get a good second look at the brand. But I think it may have been Lignetics now that you mention it.

I stopped in my local Home Depot in Halifax yesterday to check the price on pellets - Eastern Embers and La Cretes were both 5.99 per bag. When I mentioned that I had heard Moncton HD had pellets for $3.99 per bag, all I got was a shrug and a "sounds like a good deal for folks in New Brunswick". No willingness to match it, but worth a try I suppose.

If they have a lot of stock might be worth it to keep an eye on their signage out front - never know, they might decide to blow a bunch out on short notice with no other advertising. Thinking that's what happened in Moncton - definitely no sign of it on the website that I could see.

Halifax Home Depot has La Crete's on sale - $4.99 a bag if you buy a whole pallet. I was in on Saturday and they were going fast at that price.

Just called HD in Saint John, they have Eastern Embers for $5.99 and La Crete's for $3.99. Anyone ever tried La Crete's?

I have a garage full right now and had very good results with them last year. $3.99 per bag is a steal for those pellets. Your Harman will love them.

I picked up 50 bags today, I was told they were last year's stock. Had to be selective, there were a lot of wet bags. I'll probably top up the rest of my stash with Eastern Embers.
