Everytime I go outside to cut, my oldest son follows in my shadow (I always keep him in line of sight of me). He always has a plastic hand saw and pretends to cut fallen trees into 16 inch pieces.

No more handsaw! Here's what I got him:

He is going to go nuts....

Lol.

He is likely to jump right out of his skin Christmas morning.

Now Mom is going to have to work on methods to get him to come in when it's -30::C.

He will be able to cut wood "just like Dad" after christmas.

Tell her I wish her luck with that.

Maybe she should get him some boots, mitts, a coat, ski pants, toque, etc…. so at least she knows he is dressed warm for those "after breakfast till she drags him in for lunch wood cutting sessions & after lunch I go right back outside with Dad right Mom."

Lol have fun with him. Great gift idea for "Dad's helper" BTW.

Oh & BTW once he has his own saw it's not much of a stretch for him to think about trying Dad's. I always use a clevis or other pin to fix my scabbard to the saw so I can safely turn my back on it when the kids are around. Natural progression for him, so is the 150 days your wife will have you living in the doghouse when "HER BABY" gets cut on "YOUR SAW". Lol enjoy.

Ha ha. Thanks FC>

He will love it indeed. However I will certainly hold off him using the real one for many more years to come until he realizes consequences of actions.

He's all equipped for winter. One piece MEC snowsuit, awesome boots mitts and a toque. I already have a hard time getting him inside!

A

PS. The youngest hurt himself bad yesterday under my watch. It was already "my fault" (she was right...she doesnt know what happened but I wasn't paying attention and he climbed on a small rockingchair and it went backwards!! So I get the blame for everything now. LOL)

He might say, "I wanted the ORANGE one!" ;)

Cool gift, he'll love it.

My son enjoys his chainsaw. Here is a picture from a while back.

Yes, welcome to kid proofing your work area. That's why I started fixing the scabbard to the bar, only leaves me with keeping them away from the saw until the muffler cools, well that & the oily mess but hey they like using my hand cleaner.

AFA your fault goes I just got a board & put my name on it & hung it over the door to the dog house that way it was clear that she knew that I knew that no matter what when it came to her babies it was always going to be my fault. She just points to the doghouse, no one has to say a word. As the kids got older they thought it was a hoot when something would happen outside & Mom would just point to the doghouse. Get used to it, that won't change until they are in their mid 30's, may as well have fun with it.;)

We have a wooden board from the 50s with cut outs of dogs with names on them that are hung on pegs = Hubby, his two brothers and their Mom & Dad. The doghouse has another peg inside so each can have a turn being in the doghouse as earned;)
