Hi There:
Just a quick howdy-I've been lurking on this site for years, but decided to (maybe) start posting. I enjoy the information being shared, and the real world reviews of new stoves and installations.

This will be our first year back with wood heat after 2 houses and 3 years off, already enjoying the radiant warmth and busy scrounging wood.

Not at all- we live in a 1920's farmhouse out in the country, and I'm cheap. I'd rather split wood than pay Hydro . That said, coming from BC the lower rates were kind of nice!

Just to make our neighbors to the North feel better, we are forecast to break a high temperature record tomorrow set in 1948. Forecast is 80 degrees.

Yes-It will be interesting as the temperature falls... I'm intrigued to see how the draft is once the delta-T widens up between inside and outside. Obviously stronger, but how much is the question? Might have to put a manometer in-and a combustion analyzer...

I should have used a smiley face-I was being a bit facetious. I was threatening my wife that I was going to try and find an old ABB online analyzer to put in the stack (day job is a power engineer). Nope, so far everything is running just dandy-clean stack and plenty of heat.
