The rain has started in Northern Virginia. Expected to top out at up to five inches. Wind gusts 55-60 tomorrow.

I hate September around here.

The wood is going to get a nice bath. Every restaurant and shopping mall are packed due to the NASCAR race being in town and they delayed the races until Sunday. Guess I will just play on the computer.

My wood has its shower cap on. And it is lashed down.

We can use the rain up here, my lawn is totally fried, I can hear the water meter 'click-click-clicking' inside the house as my wife is watering her perennials

Don't need it here. Weather wienie was saying "We could use the rain." as I was scraping mud off my shoes this afternoon after coming in from outside. I think they have outsourced our weather men to India or something.

I saw a great picture in the Beaumont, Texas newspaper when Gustav was on its way. A local hotel handled the problem of the high winds blowing the tables and chairs around the pool away. The pic showed all of the pool furniture laying on the bottom of the pool. Pretty smart.

Save yourself, use your gopher wood to build an ark.

I would if I could figure out what the hell a cubit is.

Guess I need to get the tarp out to cover up

Tom

Woods uncovered, and "Que Sera, Sera".

I figure it's good for it.

Ike, on the other hand

Great video game, but what the hell does it have to do with a flood?

Rockey,

Oh, the memories... One I'd completely forgotten about, thanks.

Seems like were all getting lucky with Hanna. Should be much like the "Noreasters" that we all love so much in the spring. I'll tell you this though...I DONT LIKE IKE! I hope it doesn't take a right turn. That looks like a mean bugger! For those of you that like to gamble. Take the Patriots and the UNDER on Sunday. Good parlay bet.

When I saw Joe's post about about eh storm coming up to the NE I started mowing and finished up yesterday...just came in from taking the dogs out and it's sprinkling here now. Yippy! ...I just love it when I get to scalp the lawn down before it rains. As far as the wood getting wet ZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Good luck to the rest of you hope you can make it threw without any property damage.

I covered everything on Friday morning, got it done & over with.
My stuff got so soaked a few weeks back I just didn't want to deal with it again.
The Sunday forecast I saw said extreme wind, should help dry what does happen to get damp (if it does not blow over!, lol)

I've been on a ship following the southern side of Hannah up the Florida coast. It was not fun. Finally made it into JAX a day late. I never did like the term".....and the storm went safely out to sea".

Mike

Had scattered rain overnight. It really started raining around 9am this morning and it's been pretty steady ever since. No winds, tho. Now I'm just sitting out on the porch listening to Car Talk, surfing the web and watching the rain. Nothing like a good rain to slow you down enough to relax.

I'm hoping it wrings itself out well in the Mid-Atlantic states on it's way here.

I read you loud & clear, Mike...retired from 30+ yrs in the USN. Been out there, done that, didn't like it one bit (not so bad later on a carrier as compared to earlier on a frigate, though). What were you doin' out there? Rick
