hi new to this forum first year burning wood pellets have harman accentra free standing stove is 2003 model have problem with carbon building on sides of burn pot install is straight through wall other wise stoves works fine any help would be appreciated also has black tar like cresote on out side of burn pot and has lingering smoke in ash pan thank you gmtech

there is an upgrade for this stove available from your local dealer, harman calls it a reduction ring. It reduces the size of the exhaust outlet behind the ash pan. The effect is to increse air velocity through the stove. This will help with the creosote and carbon issues you have.
can i install this up grade my self i also stuffed rope gasket on top of guild plate it helped some but still have to much carbon build up
will this be covered under warranty. the stove was a floor model.the stove shop is going to replace combustion motor clean around burn pot and remove and check the draft will this help. thank you for your help

Yes it is covered under warranty, no there is no info on line that I am aware of. It does not make the stove burn pellets quicker, just more completely.
If it is under warranty can I request the dealer to come and install it at not cost?
If not how much does the part cost?

If it burns pellets more completly then its a good thing right?

My concern is about efficiency and performance.

Tell your dealer that you are having a creosote problem and that there is a fix for it. Harman's part number is 1-00-247234 and they call it an "inlet reduction ring"
it could only help efficiency, because you are reducing creosote which is a sign of incomplete combustion.

That's good info. I have a Harmane Insert that was bought in August, would that already have that part on it?
Justo got off the phone with my dealer and he is not aware of this part.
He thought I was talking about a ring that is used for Corn burning.
He isnt aware of the part number but he is going to check with Harman and f/u sometime next week.

This is for the free standing Accentra not the insert
