Was cleaning my stove today, a harman accentra FS, and noticed a hole where the auger tube meets the burnpot. Pulled the burnpot and there is some erosion/corrosion at the 4 o’clock position, but after cleaning it up the tube is recessed from the plate and not attached anywhere. I can see pink insulation all the way around. All the pot images and parts diagrams I’ve seen show the tube extends past the plate and is seal welded from behind. Am I missing something or does the feeder weldment need replacing. And if it needs replacing is that something that can be done at home or does it need to be hauled off because special tools and fixtures are needed.

Or am a overthinking this and it’s not a big deal and entirely normal ?

Pretty sure you can do it with standard hand tools. You may need a small universal drive for your socket set…
