Greetings: I've owned and used my P-68 for 5 heating seasons now and have never had to run it at full bore but with the temps in the -20 range today and tomorrow I turned the temp knob to max last night and WOW this thing can put out the heat. I live in a 200+ year old farmhouse on the Canadian border that's about 3000 square feet on 2 floors. It is well insulated however. I burn around 7 tons a year. The Harman is ALL that I'm heating with and it's keeping up pretty well. At full bore the heat coming out of the vent is so hot you can't keep your hand there. Burning about 2.5 bags a day at this output but still a LOT cheaper than oil. A very happy pellet pig..

make sure to keep the perimeter clear! going to 7 on a p68 is like crossing the streams of a proton pack (Ghostbusters reference). Be safe, and dont remove your mask until you move into another room.

8.5 pounds per hour running wide open with the feed rate at max. 2 1/2 bags a day must be on room temp mode.

We must be neighbors of sort, I'm in the North Country of NH, in Littleton. I also have a P68 but have never turned it above 5 1/2; but I don't have a 3000 sq. ft., 200 year old farmhouse. I have a 2300 sq. ft. "L" shaped ranch. I have the P68 in the big living room in one end, and the PP38 in a smaller den on the other end. Having a the big P68 on one end and the smaller PP38 at the other end balances the heat. I use 6 tons a year and no oil.

Yes the feed adjust is limiting the auger so that denser pellets do not roll off the burnpot unburnt. A 68,000 btu stove would need 8.5 pounds of pellets to be in the area of 68,000 btu. To figure that out take the BTU of the stove 68,000 and divide the BTU of pellets approx 8,000 btu per pound (approx). 68000/8000=8.5 pounds of fuel (approx). You also need to take into the efficiency of the unit.

I think we need to "get off" this porn kick and "mount our attack" on beer and stoves.

We may be weird but at -15 my house is still 74 upstairs ( downstairs 82). 2 years ago I would never have believed a pellet stove could do this. It's like insect repellent for the oil man. Gotta love it.
