I notice what seems to me to be an increased distance back along the auger on my P61A before the fire finally goes out. You guys familiar with P61A's how far back do you see the auger in yours for flame burn out ? Mine is a good 2" back along the auger before the flame fully snuffs out. I would be interested to know if that is normal and if not why would it be doing this ? I know there is a gate before the flame can get to the hopper but still I'd just as soon it go no further back than this. If it's normal that's all well and good.

We have the same thing happening. Have not posted anything about it. Have not had any issues but still doesn't look right.
The 2" back you are seeing: is this from the end of the auger? Will try to measure on ours and let you know. Also I may
call the dealer. They have been very helpful through the years.

Well this time it burned up all pellets in sight within the first full screw turn of the auger. So looking at the sharp end facing me and back to the next coil all those pellets burned and it was then out. I think that may be more like an inch and a half but I seem to recall when we first got the stove they went out with still some pellets showing. I know there are pellets just beyond that screw turn and into the next though. If I put my best glasses on I can see tan back there ! It will feed pellets right away if I were to start the stove.

My P43 burns back about that far. Always has since new. I don't like that it does it but it always has so I just assumed it was normal.

Same here, but not worried about it as I'm sure Harman knows what it is doing.
