Hello I need some advice/help. We have a magnum stoker coal stove. We lit it up for the first time this season and all was well and working great. Went to light it up again and the feeder and combustion fan lights were blinking like crazy. We cleaned it out really well after doing some reading that buildup is main combustion issue. Went to light it again and lights stopped blinking, great except we got a sulphur smell which seemed to be from fumes coming back into the house. Chimney has been inspected and is fine. Advice please? We would like to be warm lol also coal is not wet and is the proper type of coal

I've never burned coal except experimnetally. Pennsylvania members @bholler or @coaly may have some thoughts on this.

Are you sure the induction blower is coming up to speed? Give the bearings on all motors a drop of engine oil and see if the sound and rpm changes. Definitely an air problem moving through coal. The objective is forcing oxygen molecules to contact the coal surface.

Are you using coal from People’s, that is mostly Reading, or Blaschak? Some are fine with that, my Hitzer crazed the glass with excess sulfur smell.

We have one flue connecting the chimney to the stove. Yes I posted there as well haha
Have you cleaned the grates, checked that holes aren't clogged, and cleaned under them?
