Harman XXV Fan Question

Hello all,

Like many others I'm toying with the right combination of feed rate, room temp and fan speed on the Harman XXV. My question is, if you keep feed rate and room temp equal, will a high fan speed use significantly more pellets than the low? Certainly a lot more heat output is noted at the high setting.

Secondly at what setting do most of you keep your fan at through the winter?

Welcome! the fan speed has no bearing on how many pellets are burned, it just controls how much air is pushed acros the heat exchanger. Enjoy.

I run my Accentra insert in room temp mode set a 75 with the feed rate set at 5 (After finding the max feed rate per the manual) and the room mode fan set right in the middle of L & H. The stove takes care of everything to keep the room 1 to 2 deg +/- 75. I have my room temp probe 15' away from the stove on an inside wall about 5 ' off the floor. Make sure the tip of the room prob is not touching any surface and is hanging free in the air. Stove runs like a tank ramping up and down depending on the required heat demand. I'm burning NEWP pellets and have had good results with them so far.

Im messing with mine also. I'm setting the feed at 2 so you don't have a large wild flame. The stove can't move all that heat out into the room so a lot goes up the stack. (My thinking) I keep the flame as big as the medallion and run the stove a little longer to reach my preset temp.
