Harmon XXV Diagnosis

My older Harmon XXV stopped feeding pellets. The igniter light and feed motor light do not come on, even in test mode. However, the distribution fan and combustion fan are activated in test mode. My plan is to remove the feed motor and igniter to source replacements. It seems odd that the igniter would quit at the same time, though perhaps it is dependent upon the feed motor to activate.
This unit had been buried deep in a warehouse for many years when I purchased it five years ago. It’s a fantastic stove.
There are no repair technicians close by. Advice or alternative recommendations are appreciated. Thank you.

Check the vacuum switch (ie remove the wires from it, jumper and isolate from ground). Then try again.

All is well! Some pellets were inadvertently left around the vacuum switch under the glass lid, thus preventing the button from being fully depressed. I am so relieved. I now have the most lovely heat that I have grown so accustomed to.
At seventy years old I am a happy man now.

I can't take credit for that! That is the lid switch. Mine does not have one so I forget about that. I should have looked at the schematic. Also I was going to advise you to use a surge plug if you don't have one. Sometimes these issues are the control card, and you should protect that. Good Job !

First thing I always check are the free things - especially if the stove started having issues right after I did something to it like cleaning, adding pellets, scraping the pot - coincidences don't usually happen.

Had to look, mine didn't have the switch on the lid. Mine was manufactured Nov 2014.
I tried two different AI brains one said 2006 the other said 2012.
Anyone know when this change took place?

My tenants broke the door to my Harmon XXV and tried to weld it and made a mess. I can’t get help from Harmon or any service reps. I need pictures of a working door (where the eyelet skids onto the pin) so I can hopefully work to buy a new door. I can’t find it in any showrooms within 100 miles. Would someone be willing to take and share pictures?

Apparently the price has come down. Thread from a couple of years ago puts the door over $800. I'd bet at least $100 of that is "free" shipping since it is cast iron. Looks like it may have been the same issue - but no pics of a good door unfortunately

Thanks for looking. Those prices would be a lot better. I just want assurance that if I sink a bunch of money into the stove it will actually work. I did find a refurbished unit online yesterday and the salesperson graciously went to the warehouse and got me pictures. First two are how it should look and the other two is how it looks now.

I was looking for the hinge side. My stove door is so damaged ( and a freakish attempt at repair) that I could not get a service tech to understand how it is supposed to work. I did find some pictures but more could be helpful. THX.

Any good welder will be able to fix that, just needs to be heated up enough to be ABLE to be welded properly…I’m only a millwright but know how to weld cast metal
