Hi everyone

We had the building inspector look at our M55 insert. Since it is installed on a raised hearth, he suggested a 6 inch wide hearth pad / extension. I have not been able to locate one. They seem to be 12 inches and 18 inches wide. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

Did he say it was mandatory or just a suggestion?
Maybe you could post a pic of your current set up.
If it falls within manufacturers and local specs, you would be ok.
And if you feel it is needed or required, i'm with polar bear, build one.
