Hello,
Purchased a Morso woodstove . Now we need
to figure out what kind of a hearth to put down. We understand the
code regulations and setback requirements; the safety issues.
But wondering what to make the hearth out of, cement, rock, tile,
bricks, metal? Our floor is unfortunately, vinyl and when I dropped a
match on a piece of it to test, it burned a little hole! So we want to
make sure the hearth is heat resistant and tough to withstand sparks, wood
and tools used with the stove. I was amazed that the Morso
site shows a glass hearth pad, like that might be enough protection.?
Appreciate your ideas. merni

I apologize for asking a question before reading what was on this site.
I just read "Hearth Design" and feel much more informed and able to
figure out how to do the heart. Thanks to the author. Merni

You can use the smoked glass under that one, cool modern design. Looks like it has the same handles as mine, remove the spring. They make nice products, let us know how you like it. Pictures please.

I like the design too. We could have gotten the same model with a swivel for the same price, but opted for the simpler model. O.K. on the spring removal.
We have to have the stove shipped to our location (OR coast) so we won't have it for a while. Need to figure out how to prepare the hearth for it. Will
send pictures when its installed. Merni
