So we got our stove in 2022 and we've encountered our first problem. The Primary Air Handle went dead and wasn't doing anything. Upon further inspection through an air intake at the back of the wood stove. We saw and found a pin just laying at the bottom of the pan. This pin seems to control a small air handle door which opens and closes. However based on the pin it looked like it may have been connected to something else as it's sheered off at the top. Currently, the small air vent door is in the open position but we've been getting pretty poor performance out of the stove so I'm thinking there's more to it. We are not that happy... We paid close to 5k for a stove that didn't even make 2 years with moderate use. Frustrating to say the least! Now I'm trying to figure out how to fix before winter strikes!

That should be a warranty issue. Has the dealer been contacted?

Yeah I think it's just that little trap door part 50. I used a camera scope to look up in there and I just don't see how air gets into the firebox. Looking inside the firebox it would have to come from somewhere on the top of the firebox and part 46 I believe is the part / pin that sheared off somehow......Very odd. Hearthstone Support still hasn't gotten back to me. LOL. I had left a message to a technician who supposedly has worked there for over 40 years and knows all about these stoves. Almost 5K for a stove that didn't even make it two years and lousy customer support to boot!

It doesn’t matter how long he’s worked there, this is a new design stove. I forget his name but have dealt with him and he is fantastically helpful. Bill, Jim, something like that.

Good luck. At least it’s not super cold yet.
