Hello to everyone , as a new owner of an 2022 Heritage IV stove , I have at first a question related to the Bypas Door than should be closed to activate the Catalytic combustors .

I am fully cleaning and replacing a few small parts / gaskets / insulation , to be ready for the next season of my new for me ( but used ) stove , and I noticed through the top flue opening that the Bypass Door is not completely closing , when in closed position , but there is left approx. 1/8" if inch space on top/left/right , but nothing at the bottom where it is attached / hinged to the bypass shaft .

I do not see on the parts list any indication of a gasket for the bypass door or the surrounding frame .

Also there is no indication on the manual if the bypass door can be used just partially open or closed , because it is possible to just do that .

If anyone on the forum knows something about , please let me know .

Is there a bypass door gasket left? The gasket on my Craftsbury fell off within a week of installation. My dealer swears it only acts as a cushion for the door (as per his conversation with his Hearthstone rep) but I suspect it's more critical. There should be a channel around where the bypass door comes into contact with the stove body. That's where the gasket is supposed to be.

If everything moves freely and closes consistently, I wouldn’t worry too much about a small uniform gap. There’s usually no real “in-between” setting intended. It’s meant to be oopen for startup / reload and closed once you’re up to temp and ready to engage the catalyst. You can leave it partially open, but performance tends to be more unpredictable that way.

Thanks for the reply and suggestions . There is not channel around the bypass door where a gasket can be inserted , it is not warped , moves freely and consistently , but I noticed on the side facing the inside of the stove that looks like something was glued there , maybe a flat gasket similar material to the one sitting to the rear baffle or around the catalytic elements . A piece of similar material glued there with definitely close the gap .

The channel would be on the other side of the door. Not on the door itself. It's a real pain to get to on my stove.
