I have a gas fireplace with a “comfort control” knob that is supposed to adjust the flame height. It doesn’t do anything. The flame is running on the highest setting at all times and it kicking out quite a bit of heat.

Any ideas on how to adjust it if the knob isn’t functioning?

Is there a faceplate that this knob passes thru so you can adjust it?
If so, that is an extension knob & may not be fully seated on the actual regulator knob on the gas valve.
If that's the case, the regulator knob is set in the HI position.
Try to remove the extension knob & see if you can access the regulator knob.
Can you adjust the flame height with that knob?

I was able to remove the face plate and re-seat the knob. Fabulous advice. Thank you!
