Heat Pump Failed...but I'm Not Worried!

Our very old heat pump finally failed and needs to be replaced. I have an HVAC contractor coming in tomorrow to install a new system, but will have no heat until the end of the day tomorrow. In my area of eastern PA , the temps are supposed to drop overnight to the low 30s...but I'm not worried. I have the Hampton HI300 insert cranked up and the whole downstairs of my home is at a toasty 74 degrees and the upstairs about 71

Taking the day off tomorrow to watch the install and feed the insert...it's very nice to have wood heat back up when you need it! Burn on brothers

We just had an issue with our propane furnace not coming on. Thankfully we only use it when we are on vacation or a few days during the shoulder season. I put 100 gallons in our tank every three years or so. Having the wood stove as a primary heat source is wonderful. The house is so much warmer and we are not dependent upon a electrical or gas source for our heating needs.

I am always thankful for wood heat when the power goes out. That and a propane cooktop make it tolerable.
