I have an older Blaze King KEJ series wood stove that i bought used for $50 to heat my barn. It needs a new door gasket but all that i can find are rope gaskets. I have a 1.25" groove around the door and what looks like bat insulation glued in. Is there a flat door seal that i can get from a dealer or something? If this is a dumb question just smack me. :-S

I just rebuilt a Fisher wood stove that had a similar size groove, I was able to buy a flat door gasket by the foot from the local True Value hardware store. They stocked both flat and round. Look around and I am sure you can find the flat stock.

It could be that the rope gasket has flattened out. I don't have one of these stoves, so I can't be sure. Have you contacted Blaze King (509-522-2730) or a local BK dealer? Or, do you have a stove shop in the area? If so, maybe take the whole door into them. FWIW, the current KEJ manual says it uses a 7/8" door gasket. Also, gently check the catalyst and clean it if necessary or replace if bad.

If so, check page 35 of this book for instructions. Rick

nope this is mine.

How do you check and clean the catalyst? If its in the manual I just printed it and will be looking.

I just got it all hooked up last night and had a small short test fire in it. Big and ugly but man it puts out some heat. Its perfect for my old drafty barn.
