Hello, I recently purchased a house that has an old cast iron wood stove that came with the purchase. The stove is disconnected and looks like it has been out of use for awhile. The letters "PIO JC" are on the inside of the front door and there is a cautionary statement written on the inside of the side door (see photo). I would like to determine if there is a market for selling the stove and if not I will figure out somewhere to put it as a decorative piece. Please see the attached pictures. Thanks in advance for your help :)

This may be a replica. Does the stove say made in Taiwan on the bottom back?

Not anywhere that I can see. Would it be written in a similar size/style of lettering as the writing on the inside of the doors? And are you referring to the lower part of the back (Vertical surface) of the stove? Or the bottom of the stove (horizontal) that I would probably need to flip the stove over to see?

Oops! Upon closer examination I found "TAIWAN" printed on the back. Does this mean it isn't worth much?

It's fine for a decorative piece, but I wouldn't put any money into it.

Without the isinglass it is not operational. So maybe $150 as a decorative.

I think $150 would be the high side of value.

Yeah, probably optimistic, but a lot of people seem to buy these things on impulse.
