Hi all -

I moved into this house about 3 years ago and I've always had this open area where my chimney goes through my cathedral ceiling. I'm looking for some advice on how I can close this up. The stove is a Heatilator Eco-Choice CAB50

The roof has been redone last winter so the chimney area outside was redone at the same time. I'm just not sure if I can close wood up to the black square metal piece or if I need to get a ceiling box to put around the insulated pipe. Any tips or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

The stove has been running great since I've been here.

I would take some measurements and ask a sheet metal
shop to make a plate with a hole for the pipe, and then
screw it to the ceiling, paint whatever colour you wish
Coat would be less compared to the Factory units

And you think just mount the metal plate to the wood right up to the black metal collar thing?
