I'm looking at two Quadra-fires the Mt Vernon and the Santa Fe.

Used or new?

The Mt Vernon is used and the Santa Fe is new never used. Just don't know the age our how to tell.

Every stove has a born-on date. It's usually where the serial number is.

Thank you

I've got a Quad Mt Vernon AE built in 2011. Works great. Use it as primary heat source for 3000 square ft contemporary with high ceilings. Does not do the job alone. When it gets real cold furnace kicks in. I'd suggest having the owner run it before you plunk down your money. Also take it apart to see how well maintained it is. Good luck.
