Great - thanks! Actually, the thread you post is one of the threads I read - thanks again!Good work!
You were lucky my set screw stripped.
Here are pics of what I did.

I spray my blades and shaft with "Dry Moly" and remove it once a year, then after cleaning behind the blades, I spray that area with dry moly also.
If you want to get fancy, you can also clean the area behind the blades with Acetone and wire wheel any rust off, the spray with high temp stove bright Satin Black stove paint.
WD-40 works and sometimes PB Blaster works a little better.
I have been told I am anal. but can't disagree with you...I would not make it a habit of taking that off, especially on such a new stove.
Why not Scott? As many Harman owners know when it comes time to take that fan off to replace the combustion motor, it can be a bear of a job with the end result having to use a cutoff wheel and cut the shaft. It would seem prudent to remove it every couple of years so it will come off when you want it to....I would not make it a habit of taking that off, especially on such a new stove.

what size Allen takes that set screw out for the fan bladeSuccess...its off. Did a search of the website which I should have done first! Usually the problem starts with the set screw but mine came right out. The fan was frozen on the shaft so sprayed some WD-40, tapped it with a big screw driver and off she came. Only two seasons of burn but she was nasty underneath. Blower fans behind unit were fine, just vacuumed, put some duct tape over the chimney inlet and closed it up. Put duck tape on my cord plug as a reminder. Wire brushed all the removable panels, will spray with PAM and add some Damp Rid.
Sorry' don't know the size as I used from a set. I will tell you, it was not metric and the screw was exactly the one size (not this one or another). It was also easier to take the wrench off the ring to use.what size Allen takes that set screw out for the fan blade
mine is 1/8", 2010 pc 45, should be the same but not guarantees.what size Allen takes that set screw out for the fan blade
Gotta have those upgrades.X2 Why not?
I take mine off every year so it will not get frozen. Also it is much easier to clean behind there with the blade off. Then I can easily upgrade to the new double paddle blade that has each petal riveted.
When ya pick up a stove like this it needs a few upgradesGotta have those upgrades.
