I have a Buckner Dove that was installed when our house was built. In addition to the blowers on each side of the hearth, there are four vents in the wall behind the heater. They have about 5"x5" ducts that disappear into the wall, and a wall switch that seems to be associated with them. Two of the ducts are almost at floor level, on each side of the fireplace, and the other two are about three feet above those. Anyone have an idea how those are supposed to function?

Typically air is pulled in the lower intakes, passed by the fireplace in a plenum or thru tubes and then out the upper vents.
